Product design leadership fueled by systems thinking, clarity, and growth.

HI THERE. I’M TURTLE ANGELO

A design leader who thrives in complexity and loves bringing order to ambiguity.

With over two decades in product design, I've spent the last four years at Lithia Motors leading design across both customer experiences and internal tools that power America's largest automotive retailer. When I'm not working with my team, you'll find me teaching yoga, exploring San Diego's trails with my camera, or thinking about how systems—whether in design, business, or life—can create meaningful connection.

Professional expertise

Good design starts with understanding people: how they think, what they need, and where they get stuck. Across e-commerce, automotive, fitness, and SaaS, I've learned that the fastest path to a good experience is usually subtraction. I process quickly, I cut what hasn't earned its place, and I move between strategic direction and the specific interaction that's causing drop-off without losing either altitude.

People & Mentorship

Helping people grow is some of the most rewarding work I do. I've mentored junior designers, managed agency teams, and coached direct reports into broader ownership, always focused on building confidence and independence. I create space for learning through structured feedback, honest coaching, and a genuine belief that when individuals thrive, teams thrive.

I lead by creating the conditions for great design to happen: clear vision, strong processes, and a team that genuinely owns their work. I stay close enough to the work to give feedback that's actually useful, and far enough back to let people grow into hard problems. I care about moving things forward, but not at the expense of the people doing the moving.

A design system nobody uses is just a Figma file. I took Driveway's design system from a Figma component library to a fully coded, documented system, then built the relationships and credibility across design and engineering to actually drive adoption. Eventually that footprint expanded beyond Driveway.com into internal tools.
